Gillway extension

The client came to us with the aim of achieving greater entertaining space for their growing family and additional accommodation for relatives. The design under permitted development rights was very restricted due to its immediate context. A shallow pitched roof design was proposed with French doors out towards the side garden area. Complications arose during warrant preparations due to the existing construction consisting ‘no fines’, relevant within this area. The response to which required a concrete raft foundation and underpinning the existing foundations to avoid potential construction defects in the future.
