Energy

At Stuart King Architecture & Design we pride ourselves in taking an educational approach.

Through SK Energy we are focussed on offering an efficient service while working alongside the client and/or Architect to achieve a build that won’t only meet the minimum requirements, rather exceed them to the highest standards throughout all areas of Section 6 Energy of the Scottish Technical Standards. As an Approved and Certified business under BRE, ELMHURST and STROMA, we aim to educate our clients to ensure a greater understanding of the process which can become very complicated.

If you are a residential/domestic client seeking guidance for Building Warrant approval, you will require an SAP (Standard Assessment Procedure). If you are proposing an extension to your dwelling and the glazing is over 25% or the floor area, a compensatory approach is required. This can be achieved by completing relevant u-values and a compensatory calculation.

If you are a commercial client seeking guidance for Building Warrant approval, you will require a SBEM (Simplified Building Energy Model) calculation.  Any client wishing to achieve standards exceeding Section 6 of the Scottish Building Standards, your core focus may be to achieve ‘Passivhaus House’ standard (a fabric first low energy building)

SK Energy will aim to respond to any enquiries within 2 working days of an enquiry being made.
